Infrastructures & suprastructures

This section of the frame is based on ¿4 region - ‘slower’ time, more intractable . . outside the scope of everyday vision. Below the threshold? beyond the horizon? over the top of the head?


A person may be aware of large-scale formations in which it is impossible to know more than a tiny proportion of participants, but upon which life ‘here’ or ‘for us’ depends, in some quite forceful way. Also, aware that life is conducted there in some ways that are in some ways distinctly different from life ‘here’ . . . by virtue of resource-bases, infrastructures, powers, geographies, traditions, etc which are afforded and mobilisable in those settings and unavailable here. A person may also be aware that it is open to them to engage in (economic, cultural, aesthetic) commerce across such regions, with the expectation of desirable outcomes now or in the future with regard to changed provision or possibility or perspective ‘here’.
